				<description>

				&lt;br/&gt;
Over the last *forever* (well, four weeks really) we&apos;ve been re-doing the kitchen.

We are getting close to finished, but are not done yet!

Here are some images of the progress:

Enjoy!

...well, I guess it&apos;s a vegetable really...

I just pick my first broccoli from the garden!

It was a good size, and look forward eating it in a meal near me soon!

				That&apos;s right, it happened at last.

After a year of talking about it, we finally planted a lemon tree!

				<title>Carrots...it&apos;s all worth it in the end</title>
				<link>http://www.harrisfamily.net.nz/blog/index.cfm/2006/12/22/Carrotsits-all-worth-it-in-the-end</link>
				<description>

				&lt;P&gt;
Today we got our first BIG carrots out of the garden.

I&apos;ve gotten a few small ones out while thinning, but I though I would let Joshua pull one out. (they are HIS carrots ya know!)

So I picked an easy access one, and look what he pulled up!
The one in his right hand is the one.

I was going to pull out one more, but because it was entwined with another, 2 came out. That&apos;s the other 2.

In the back ground you can see the garden, and there are still quite a few more to come!

				<title>New computer, boxing and Carrots</title>
				<link>http://www.harrisfamily.net.nz/blog/index.cfm/2006/11/19/New-computer-boxing-and-Carrots</link>
				<description>

				Well, I havn&apos;t said much for a while, so thought I should say something!

New Computer: I ordered a new computer the other week, and it arrives in about a week!
It&apos;s a Dell, 2.8 Duo Core, 2GB Ram, 160GB HD, 20inch LCD.
It&apos;s the first REAL computer I have ever bought, with all my other computer being either 2nd hand or low spec...

Boxing: I went to my first live boxing match on Friday. It&apos;s a sport for nutters! I can&apos;t say I understand it. There I was with all my work mate eating a nice dinner while to people would be hitting each other. It was corporate boxing, which means they boxers had little boxing experience.
My boss was the first one in the ring (hence the reason I was there!) and he survived the 3 rounds with only a blood nose.
I could say I enjoyed the evening with out having to strech the truth, but I just can&apos;t get in to watching some need medical attention be because he has just been knocked out in a sport that is only about knocking out...

Carrots: I think I planted to many...I planted 4 rows, which takes up about half my raised garden. I think I should have only planted 2, and left more room for other plants.
Oh well, we learn as we do!

				<title>Dirt on the move again</title>
				<link>http://www.harrisfamily.net.nz/blog/index.cfm/2006/10/7/Dirt-on-the-move-again</link>
				<description>

				Guess what, I&apos;ve been moving dirt again.

At the moment Joshua is in the bath getting cleaned up after &quot;helping&quot; Dad with the dirt.

I think he really enjoyed the part where I watered the dirt (to pack it down a bit) and he played with the resulting mud.
He said &quot;sorry&quot; after he had thrown some against the house, but it washed off with the hose easy enough.

The next step is planting now... it&apos;s all ready to go!

				<description>

				To day I started building a raised garden.

I have gotten to the point of needing dirt now, which I will get out of the pile that I moved.
I&apos;ll need to get all the grass and stones out of the dirt!
All part of the fun!

Here is a video of the work thus far, and a picture of Joshua in the garden! :-)

				<title>The lawn is bigger! (and so is the pile of dirt!)</title>
				<link>http://www.harrisfamily.net.nz/blog/index.cfm/2006/9/2/The-lawn-is-bigger-and-so-is-the-pile-of-dirt</link>
				<description>

				Well, after another few more hours playing with my new birthday toy (the wheelbarrow) I have finished moving dirt!

The pile in the corner of the property has gotten quite big, and we are planning to use it in the raised vege gardens we are going to make (one day, honest!)

I put some grass seed on the reclaim lawn, so hopefully that will get to grow a bit before the birds eat it!

Also today I have been working on adding &quot;youtube&quot; to this blog.

YouTube is a place on the internet you can store videos for free, and add them to your web site.
I&apos;ll be able to use this to bring you the footage of the baby scan when we get have the scan!

				<title>The Adventures of the new wheelbarrow!</title>
				<link>http://www.harrisfamily.net.nz/blog/index.cfm/2006/8/26/The-Adventures-of-the-new-wheelbarrow</link>
				<description>

				The other day I quietly turned 35.

One of the great things about this event is I got my wheelbarrow! A bit like a 21st key maybe?...

The last two weekends I&apos;ve been using it for what it was intended... MOVING DIRT!

Up the back of our place we have a garden shed, which we created a pile of dirt to put there.

Along one of the boundary fences is a pile of dirt the people we bought this place from put there. I think it is a combination of the earth dug up for the foundations of this place and dirt dug up to build the fence...
I am moving this dirt to claim it as lawn, as I want to maximize the amount of lawn we have!!

The wheelbarrow has been put to good use...
YAY for wheelbarrows!
