Paper Vision 3D Sphere - Carousels on Steroids!

Check this out.

A bit more fun with a Carousel.

What I have done is added multiple carousels (9 in fact) with different number of pictures and radius settings.

The effect is quite fun!

'ave a look:

My PaperVision Playing requires Adobe Flash Player 9. Get Adobe Flash..

Nice idea.
You should make the images on the opposite side of the sphere the back of the kid's head instead of a reverse image.

Or if you took enough photos around the kids head you could slice them up and make a head puzzel

wld love to see that skinned with video
is source available?
i am absolutely an idiot when it comes to creating spheres mathematically

To be honest, I cheated for that sphere.

It's a set of carousels of decreasing radius with the pictures point towards the middle.
I just eye-balled it until it looked about right! :-p

I do intend to tidy up the code at some point and use maths to do it the _right_ way, so keep an eye on my blog for updates! :-)

Dude, great work! I noticed u chose to move the planes, instead of moving the camera. Excellent choice. The source code for v0.2 has the planes rotating differently. Is there a newer source that we can disect, to see how u achieved this? I am able to recreate same look by moving camera, but I desire to move planes instead, and am having trouble with the rotation of the planes.

WOW MAN... Nice Effect... If you add some lighting to this it could get funky...

Oh yes... if you are so to inclined, please publish the source for this app. I am still leaarning PV3D and need all the insight I can get...

Now I feel dumb but where is the source. This looks really close to what I want to create and anything that jump starts that is a HUGE help

You can find some source code on the entry: http://www.harrisfamily.net.nz/devblog/index.cfm/2...

Keep in mind this is about 18months old, and PaperVision code base has come along way since I wrote this!
